Every Camper Needs to Bring:

(with child’s name on the bag - these items will be stored at camp)
•    Daily bag lunch
•    Mid-morning snack

Getting to Know You
Please introduce yourselves to your child’s counselor and to the camp Directors.  Safety requires that everyone get to know each other as soon as possible.

Things from Home

Please do not send expensive items/toys to camp with your child!  If an item is brought, we will do our best to make sure it remains intact, but it is not our responsibility.  The care of the item lies with your child.  Items from home that become an annoyance will be confiscated and returned to the parents at the end of the day.  They should not return to camp.  Cellphones, iPods, Gameboys, or any other audio/video type electronic devices are NOT allowed.  No trading cards, baseball cards, or other collections are allowed on campus.

Label it!
Each year we are left with an enormous amount of uncollected lost and found items.  Please label anything brought to camp from home with your child’s name, including: lunch pails, towels, jackets, backpacks, t-shirts, swimwear, etc.

Wheels Day!
On Thursdays campers will be given the opportunity to use their roller blades/skates, bicycles, or scooters that they have brought from home.  Helmets are a MUST and elbow and/or knee pads are suggested!  We will park the “wheels” between the classrooms when not in use.

Illness
Please do not bring a sick child to camp.  Campers must be fever-free and stomachs should be settled for 24 hours following any illness before returning to camp.  The Director must be told of any medications brought to camp.

Money
Money is not to be brought to camp UNLESS it is specified for a field trip.  Even then, money will not be carried by the campers.  Money is to be turned in to a counselor at check-in and will be distributed to the child when needed.

Food
Campers are required to bring their own lunch and beverage. We provide water (all day), punch, and an afternoon snack. Please advise us of any food allergies on the registration form.

Daily Clothing
Campers must wear shoes/sneakers at all times (except during water play). Sandals must have a back strap and may not be worn on field trips.  NO flip-flops or swim shoes except DURING water play or at the pool.  Again, this is a major safety issue.Casual clothing may be worn – but good taste and Christian modesty must be observed.  Low slung pants, halter tops, spaghetti straps, midriff bearing tops, and short shorts are not acceptable.  Any cleavage or bare stomachs must be covered.  Please put your child’s name on all jackets, sweaters, swim suits, towels, or any item that comes on or off.

Swimming Information
We visit Rancho Simi Pool on Wednesday afternoons.  Lifeguards are all certified to one step below EMT. Our counselors will attend and alternate in and out of pool supervision.  Children will not go into a restroom/dressing room without a counselor.
Campers will change into and out of swim suits at Trinity.  Camp shirts are also required on pool day.  If you choose to have them wear their suits to camp under their clothing, that is fine, just be sure to send a change of clothes.

On Campus Water Play
On water days campers need to bring swim suits and towels.  Again, please label your items!  Flip-Flops and water shoes are allowed, but only during water play.  Flip-Flops are NOT allowed at any other time at camp.

Field Trips:
We travel the greater Simi Valley area on a regular basis and transportation is provided by our camp van and/or personal counselor vehicles.  All counselors that drive for the camp are 21 or older.  Campers also may be scheduled to walk a short distance: Lemon Park, the Simi Library or the Regal Movie Theater are three examples of past walks.  A vehicle will always be available in case of emergencies.Travel days are listed on the camp calendar. Though most trips are for the entire camp, some could be grade specific. Each camper will be given ONE camp T-shirt at the beginning of camp.

CAMP SHIRTS MUST BE WORN ON ALL FIELD TRIPS.  If your child does not wear their camp shirt, they will not be allowed on the trip. If on-campus care is available, the child will be placed in that activity. If it is an all camp trip, and your child does not wear their t-shirt, admission to camp will be refused. Child care will be the parent’s responsibility. No financial reimbursements will be made. This is for safety and is the parent’s responsibility.  Sandals may NOT be worn on field trips.

Major Field Trips:
Campers must wear (this year’s) T-shirt.  NO exceptions.  Details concerning each trip will be provided at least one week prior to the event.  Information will include: any extra fees, lunch instructions, spending money for your child, departure and return times.  Major trips are usually held on Fridays and travel is usually on a chartered bus.  These trips are always scheduled for the entire camp and we expect all to attend.  If you do not wish them to go, we need your notification ten days prior to trip day so we can arrange adequate supervision.  In the past we have visited: Castaic Lake, Ventura County Fair, Knotts Berry Farm, Paramount Ranch, & the Beach.

Most activities are divided according to age-group.  We work hard to provide a wide variety of activities to keep campers involved and learning in a fun-filled Christian atmosphere.
